Ali Akbar Moradi Ensemble Live in London
Join us on Saturday, June 1st at Kings Place, London for a concert featuring Ali Akbari Moradi, hailed as 'the best tanbur player alive' (Songlines Magazine), alongside his ensemble.
Moradi, born in 1957 in Guran near Kermanshah, began studying the tanbour at age six, mentored by esteemed masters. He debuted at 14 in Kermanshah and later founded the first Tanbour group in the city. He's won numerous awards, conducted extensive research resulting in CDs and publications, and collaborated with renowned musicians. Based in Kurdistan, Iran, Moradi also runs The House of Tanbour, a cultural center promoting Kurdish music and offering classes and festivals.
He will be joined by Arash Moradi (tanbour, setar), Koroush Moradi (daf, tanbour), and Mehdi Bagheri (kamancheh) for this concert. Brought to you by ArtStage and Vaak Records. For further details and ticket purchases, click here.
